October 26, 2017
Special Meeting Minutes
The meeting was called to order by Mr. Champlin at 6:35 p.m. Present were trustees Mr. Giles, Mr. Nield and Mr. Black. Mr. Higdem was absent. Also in attendance were Mr. Schroeder, Superintendent; Mrs. Cooper, District Clerk; and Dominik Unger, Kimberly High School Principal.
AGENDA: Mr. Giles moved to approve the special meeting agenda as submitted. Mr. Black seconded the motion. The motion carried 4-0.
Pursuant to Idaho Code Section 67-2345(1), the Kimberly Board of Education will meet in executive session to discuss one or more of the following: (a) & (b) consider personnel matters; (c) deliberate regarding labor negotiations or acquisition of an interest in real property which is not owned by a public agency (d) to consider records exempt by law from public inspection; (e) consider preliminary negotiation involving matters of trade or commerce in which this governing body is in competition with another governing body; (f) communicate with legal counsel regarding pending imminently-likely litigation; (i) communicate with risk manager/insurer regarding pending/imminently-likely claims; and 74-206(2) conduct labor negotiations. EXECUTIVE SESSION ITEMS MAY BE DISCUSSED AND ACTED UPON, IF APPROPRIATE, IN OPEN SESSION. Only bolded items will be discussed.
Mr. Nield moved to enter into executive session at 6:40 p.m. Mr. Giles seconded the motion. The motion carried 4–0. Roll call, yes x4.
At 9:32 p.m. Mr. Nield moved to exit executive session and Mr. Giles seconded the motion. The motion carried 4-0.
CONSIDER BOARD DECISION FOR STUDENT X: Mr. Nield moved and Curtis Giles seconded the motion to extend the withheld expulsion judgment for Student X. Conditions to be communicated with the administration, parents and student. The motion carried 4-0.
APPROVE DISTRICT SWIM MEET TRAVEL TO JACKPOT, NV: Mr. Black moved and Mr. Nield seconded the motion to approve out of state travel for the swim team to compete in district competition. The motion carried 4-0.
ADJOURNMENT: Myron Nield moved to adjourn at 9:36 p.m. Matthew Black seconded the motion. The motion carried 4-0.
