Hello KES family!
I am a mom of two, a military wife, and your KES School Counselor. I have worked with adults and children with developmental disabilities, as well as with adults and children with various mental health concerns. I grew up in south Alabama and only moved to Idaho as an adult. Yes, my southern accent does still come through at times. I received my Bachelor's degree from Troy University in Troy, Alabama, and my Master's Degree in Social Work from Boise State University. I am so proud to be working with such amazing students, parents, and staff in Kimberly School District. The COVID-19 pandemic has definitely thrown a wrench in our "normal", but we continue to grow, change, and persevere. We are resilient! The relationships and support we create will continue to help us be the wonderful community we are.
My responsibilities include helping your child feel safe and successful here at school, helping families navigate tough changes and situations, helping identify challenges, supports, resources, and opportunities for your child, and working to support our teachers so they can keep doing the amazing job they do!
I also enjoy using Hagrid, my amazing partner and Therapy Dog, to help me reach students and bring happiness to our school. He does great things! If you have any questions about our school dogs and how they are used, please reach out. We love to talk about them.
Please know- I am here for you! Please reach out to me if you have a need, even if that need is just to talk. That's what I'm here for. You can reach me via email at jsnell@kimberly.edu or by calling (208) 423-4170 ext. 3030.
Your KES Counselor,
Jenni Snell
