Kimberly High School is excited to welcome a new Spanish teacher, Maestro Bretti, to our hallways! He is originally from Santiago, Chile, and he loves filling his classroom with so much original culture from a Spanish-speaking country.
He is not an unfamiliar face in the Kimberly district. Maestro Bretti previously taught Spanish at Kimberly Middle School, and he continues to bring his enthusiasm and joy to the high school this year. He strives to help students master the Spanish language, and he also makes sure to incorporate the Latin culture in his teaching to make sure the students learn the importance of that as well. With his joyful and happy spirit, Maestro Bretti will continue to make a positive impact at Kimberly High School.
“I have always wanted to be a teacher,” said Maestro Bretti. “Teaching at the middle school helped me prepare for high school. I was lucky to be able to have some of the same students return. But the middle school was a good introduction to the district and the culture of the city of Kimberly.”
Maestro Bretti’s teaching journey is so different and so unique. Before pursuing his dream of a teaching career, Maestro Bretti attended culinary arts school. There, his love for cooking grew, and his appreciation and knowledge also increased. His hobbies include cooking, biking, working, and building hands-on crafts and buildings.
Maestro Bretti has a lot of experience working in the classroom, he has been teaching for 12 years, and he plans to continue pursuing his teaching career. He enjoys seeing the progress of his students when learning a foreign language.
“Seeing the growth in students in their ability to speak a foreign language is great," he said. "It's nice to know that they have prepared themselves for the future and have a foundation for the changes that may come in the world.”
He was born and raised in La Serena, Chile, and is now excited to continue his career in education. Maestro Bretti shows his love for the language and Latin culture by sharing it with others in the classroom. Maestro Bretti has and continues to make an amazing difference at Kimberly High School.
