The KHS cheerleading team has been a big part of the sports culture at Kimberly. The girls have appeared in many events throughout the year like assemblies, basketball games, football games, and cheer competitions. Cheer has one of the longest sports seasons as it expands through the fall and winter seasons.

Kimberly senior, Tarissa Plew, said, “We have performed multiple times over the year and are ready to finally have everything pay off.”

Cheer competed in Jerome at the Rumble in the Jungle competition. At this competition, they placed first in Pom and first in Show. Although they were not the overall winners they proved that they were solid in their routines.

On February 8, the cheer team competed at Twin Falls High School for districts. At districts they beat Gooding, Filer, and Buhl in sideline, Buhl and Filer in show, and Filer, Buhl, and Gooding in Pom. Not only did the Bulldogs sweep all three events, but they won the overall competition as well.

Kimberly cheer is district champs!

Lucy Williams, team captain, said, “I think our season is going really well. We’ve worked as a team and put a lot of hard work on. We should end up winning districts and hopefully placing at state.”

The Kimberly cheer team is looking forward to a season of success. As the winner of districts, the Bulldogs advance to state, which is ultimately the goal for the cheerleaders.

The cheer team has performed each of their routines a variety of times during halftime of the games. They have prepared themselves for this weekend and are looking towards the best result. Overall district champions, meaning they place first in show, pom, and sideline.

Support our cheerleaders as they compete at districts and are now looking to compete at state.
