Drivers Education

Kimberly School District offers a Driver’s Education class through IDLA. This IDLA course consist of 30-45 hours of on-line instruction over a 6-week course, ending with the proctored final exam at Kimberly High School.  The in-car driving portion is simultaneous with the on-line learning and the hours are driven after school and on weekends.

Students may register with Mrs. Sargeant in the HS front office during the registration dates. Students are selected chronologically by birthdates and those students will be notified to pay the $175 fee and given the information necessary to purchase their permit at the DMV for $26.50.  A parent meeting is held a week prior to the opening of the IDLA course to explain the course and driving procedures.

Students must have a certificated copy of birth certificate with the stamped seal on it to purchase the permit. No photo copies are allowed. The student must be at least 14 1/2 years of age to enroll in the class. Students not selected for a session must sign up again for the next session to be considered as we do not carryover student’s names to the next session.

Class dates and class size are tentative depending on the availability of instructors for IDLA and driving.
