The Kimberly High School cheerleaders have had a great year so far. The ladies have been working hard almost every day at practice. They went to Tiger Rumble on January 7, where they won first place in show, first in the pom, and first for their sideline routine. They also going to Burley last Saturday, Jan. 28, for their district competition.

Once again, the ladies took first in all three performances and took the spot overall for the district championship. Way to go Bulldogs!

How did the girls think they were going to do over the weekend?

Kati Greenhalgh said, “I think the cheerleaders will do great in their districts. We have improved so much since last year from stunts to tumbling to jumps, and I think we’re prepared to dominate.”

Karson Wright added, “Heading into district, I feel confident that our team will do very well. We have dedicated countless hours to learning, working, and perfecting all three of our routines. We are going to give it our all and I am very optimistic that our hard work will pay off.”

Whitney Ward said, “Despite all the obstacles we have had to face this week with all the injuries, and routine changes, I think we are going to do amazing at districts.”

Kaylee Walker said, “I think that our team had worked extremely hard to get where we are, so I think we are going to do amazing.”

Jenni Taylor said, “I feel like we will do great at districts. As long as we are confident as a team and lift each other up, we can do amazing as a team.”

Leah Melvin added, “I think that our team will do great at districts this year. Based on the success we’ve had at our previous competitions and the routines we’ve seen from the other competitors; I would say that it is more than likely that we will qualify to state!”

The cheerleaders will compete at state on Feb. 10, at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa. Good luck ladies!
