MATH:
This week we'll review all four operations with fractions. We'll also work on writing equivalent expressions by combining like terms and using the distributive property. Students can still retake a test if needed to improve their grades and should make that a priority this week as we will have our Chapter 6 test next week.

PACK:
This week in PACK we are working on our demonstration speeches. Your student can present in person at school or create a video and have that play in class as their presentation. This is a fun one because the students are creating a class that they know something about and want to teach. Students are encouraged to find things they are passionate about and share that passion teaching us about. This can include anything that, you as the parent, are comfortable allowing them to make a video of or teach in front of a class. Last year we got excellent instruction on archery, firearm safety, tumbling, and wrestling. Due to the nature of these presentations, they just filmed these at home or in the gym or on the range with their parents permission AND assistance. In other classes, students cooked food and even brought some in for tasting. If your student chooses to do this I need an ingredient list attached to the presentation to ensure no one has any allergic reactions. This is a big presentation with a 2 minute minimum time frame and the presentations have to be submitted prior to the bell ringing on Tuesday the 18th. Significant points will be deducted from the students grades for missing these two requirements. Please reach out if you have questions or concerns.
