Welcome to the KMS 6th Grade Weekly Update!

The end of the Second Quarter is this Friday January 13th. Grades will be finalized so make sure to have all work completed before the day is over on Friday. There will be no school on Friday January 13th but the Ski Trip will be that day if you filled out the ski trip forms. IF you are going on it, make sure to be at the school by 8:15am as buses will leave at 8:30am.

MATH:

This week in math we're exploring integers. We'll be using a number line and positive and negative tiles to make sense of adding integers. There is an activity on Canvas called "Adding Integers" that we'll be doing in class. Students can also repeat the activity at home for more practice.

There is still time to turn in missing work or do test retakes! I'm here every day after school.

The rest of the week we will be presenting with our partners. Please remember that Friday is the last day of the quarter to submit late work. Any assignments that are no longer open in Canvas can be submitted by paper in person. As a reminder I am available until 3:45 every day after school to help you with any questions you might have. SCIENCE:

Hey All,

This is the last week of the quarter. Please make sure you are checking your students' grades, so they have some days to make up work if need be. The Element Wanted posters that were turned in last week are graded so please check PowerSchool. If your student has a zero that means I have not received their final draft yet. They have until this Thursday 1/12 to get it in to me.  This week we are moving onto phase change. If you have any questions please feel free to email me and I would be happy to get back to you!

SOCIAL STUDIES:

Hey everyone!

This week we will be finishing up our Europe Map and turning it in this Wednesday (B-Day) and Thursday (A-Day). Make sure to also have Bellringers #25-36 turned in before the quarter ends this Friday! Let me know if you have any questions for me!

STEM:

Hello Parents/Guardian's and Students! Only a few more days of Quarter 2, wow! I have spoken to all students about making sure all missing work is turned in by Thursday at 1:45, no work can be accepted after that deadline. If you are absent, please email your work; the same deadline applies.

This week we are diving into Unit 3, Engineering For the Future. We will complete an assignment on forces and discuss tension and compression as we prepare to learn about bridges.

Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
