Weekly Update 02/06/23-02/10/23

Welcome to the KMS 6th Grade Weekly Update!

All 6th graders are invited to go on a trip to Washington DC in June 2024. There will be an information meeting on Thursday, Feb 9 at 5:30 in room 803 for all those interested in more information. You should be seeing a flyer sent home with your child over the next couple of days with more information. If there are any questions, please contact Mr. Darrington at cdarrington@kimberly.edu. The 6th Grade Teachers would also really appreciate it if anyone who has spare Kleenex boxes would be willing to bring any extras in so we could use them in our classrooms!

LANGUAGE ARTS:

This week in ELA is very similar to last week as we continue to dive into paragraph writing. We will be focusing on topic sentences, citing evidence, supporting sentences, and how to write a thesis. We are continuing with our nonfiction reading. The requirement for this quarter is 2 AR points of nonfiction, these can be added up from multiple books or one longer book. Classwork will include bellringer #4, assignments on canvas, and in-class worksheets. Please email me if you have any questions or concerns.

MATH:

We finished chapter 4 and will be preparing for the test on Monday and Tuesday. The test will be on Wednesday for A-day and Thursday for B-day. The study guide has been posted on Canvas. If students complete the last page and turn it in on test day, they can earn extra credit.

A zero on an assignment means it is missing. I have lots on the No Name board again! Extra copies are also available so you can get caught up.
