My name is Joshua Warwick and I teach 8th grade history. I have two children that are the most important thing in the world to me, and enjoy hunting, fishing, cooking and reading. I have a B.A. from Boise State University in history and an M.A. in U.S. History and American Government from Ashland University in Ohio, as well as being a recipient of the James Madison Fellowship, a scholarship that allows one person from each state to spend the summer studying U.S. History in Washington D.C. at Georgetown University with historical and constitutional scholars. Having taught for 18 years, I look at it as my calling. This year, whether in the classroom or online, we will be learning about U.S. History from the founding of the Jamestown Colony to the ending of the Civil War. The two main issues we will focus on will be the ideals enshrined in our Declaration of Independence and Constitution by the Founding Fathers and the struggle do live up to them as put forth by Abraham Lincoln. My classroom is frequently centered around discussion and debate- many of my students report fond memories of this years afterward. Not only do the students learn, they develop their critical thinking skills and have fun. I care about each and every student and am ready to help them in any way possible.
