World History

U.S. History I

U.S. History I will involve studying the history of the United States from pre-colonial America to the end of Reconstruction after the Civil War (1877). Students will cover the history, political structure, social background, and economic institutions of the United States during this period.
Grade level: 10 

U.S. History II

This class examines important changes and events between 1877 and the present. An emphasis will be placed on tracing the development of the American political system, economic institutions, and U.S. culture during the Gilded Age, the Progressive Era, the World Wars, the Cold War, the Civil Rights Era, the Korean and Vietnam Wars to the present.  
Prerequisite: U.S. History IA and IB    Grade level: 11 

Honors U.S. History II

This is a dual credit class through CSI. This course examines important changes and events between 1865 and the present. An emphasis will be placed on tracing the development of the American political system, economic institutions, and the U.S. culture during the Gilded Age, the Progressive Era, the Great Depression, the World Wars, the Civil Rights Movement, Vietnam War and the Cold War.
Prerequisite: U.S. History IA and IB and approval from prior history teacher    Grade level: 11   CSI dual credit available 

Government

Students will learn about the American Government system. Units include discussions on our governments formation, research into the Constitution's design, Political Ideologies, as well as in depth looks at the Legislative, Exceutive, and Judicial Branches of our government.
Prerequisite: Completion of both semesters of US History I and US History II  Grade level: 12

Honors Government

This is a dual credit class. Students will learn about the American Government system. Units include discussions on our governments formation, research into the Constitution's design, Political Ideologies, as well as in depth looks at the Legislative, Exceutive, and Judicial Branches of our government. Students will also be required to attend local government assemblies (City Counsil or School Board meetings), complete a novel study on a political science topic, and complete projects emulating government functions.
Prerequisite: Completion of both semesters of US History I and US History II and recommendation of US History II instructor
Grade level: 12   CSI dual credit available
