The Kimberly High School girls varsity basketball team had an outstanding season in 2024-25, winning 17 of their games and losing just nine. They also were district champions! The girls worked very hard during the season and showed great resilience and determination.
Sophomore Addy Osborne commented on what the hardest part about playing on a varsity team was: “The hardest part about being a varsity athlete was balancing everything. It got stressful at times, but you had to just take it little bits at a time because it always got better.”
Another sophomore, Emma Chavez, said, “I liked the challenges, and I liked the exciting games.”
Winning the district championship was a great achievement for the girls. It provided great motivation to the team for their state games. They stayed focused to achieve the best outcome, which was what mattered most at the end of the day.
Senior Berkley Dille said, “I prepared for a big game by watching lots of film to know the way they played and by putting effort into practices.”
It was obvious how this basketball team never gave up or lost hope, even after facing a few tough losses in the early part of the season. They kept pushing one another and were there to support each other at practice and during their games.
