Each administrator shall be evaluated annually in order to provide guidance and direction to the administrator in the performance of his/her assignment. Such evaluation shall be based on the job description, accomplishment of annual goals and performance objectives, student achievement and established evaluative criteria. For building based school administrators such evaluation, except for that of the Superintendent, will include a section for input received from parents or guardians. The Board shall determine the manner and weight of parental input on the evaluation.
At least fifty percent (50%) of the evaluation will be based on objective measures of growth in student achievement as determine by the Board. The Board will approve the District’s measure(s) of growth in student achievement at the September Board meeting each year.
The Superintendent shall establish procedures for these annual evaluations. Near the beginning of the school year, the Superintendent shall inform the administrator of the criteria to be used for evaluation purposes, including the adopted goals for the District and the yearly goals of the administrator, job description, and evaluative criteria including but not limited to performance statements dealing with leadership, personal behavior, student achievement, decision making, communication, faculty development, leadership development, time and task project management, technology, learning.
A copy of the annual evaluation, signed by the administrator and evaluator, shall be placed in the administrator's personnel file. The administrator shall have the right to submit and attach a written statement to the evaluation within ten working days following the conference.
