Obligations of District Personnel
The health and safety of all students in the Kimberly School district are of vital concern to the Board of Trustees. Therefore, it is the policy of the Kimberly Board of Trustees that all staff members will provide first aid and/or emergency treatment to students in the case of a sudden illness or injury. This “first aid” will be provided by KSD staff members, to the best of their ability, given their training and knowledge. All “first aide” efforts will be with the expressed goal of preserving life and health of our students.
Further, it is the policy of the Kimberly School District to not accept or honor “Do Not Resuscitate” orders/requests from any source. Should a parent request the district honor a “Do not resuscitate” order/request, the parent will be referred to the superintendent. The superintendent will place the parent’s request on the next board meeting agenda. The parent’s request and the board’s deliberation are by Idaho Code, an issue appropriately placed on the “closed session” part of the board agenda.
It is the intent of the Kimberly Board of Trustees that all students receive appropriate “First Aid by the Kimberly Schools’ Staff. No student is to be denied any appropriate efforts to preserve their life and health.
